Merseyside Jewish Community Care is looking to ballroom dancing to plug funding gaps caused by local authority cuts.
Dance sessions for the elderly and art therapy are some of the pilot activities being innovated as well-being projects which are being funded for 12 months by a £6,000 Lottery grant announced last week. Art classes, part of the MJCC's new The Feel Good Factor project, will begin in January as one of the first regular communal activities to take advantage of Liverpool King David schools new campus.
MJCC chief executive Lisa Dolan said this new focus on health initiatives could open the door to new funding streams from local health authorities.
