Sheree Oxenham is furthering a family tradition with her appointment as head of the pluralist Clore Shalom Jewish Primary in Shenley.
Currently deputy head of the Akiva School in Finchley, she is the sister-in-law of Lenna Rosenberg, head of Clore Tikva Primary in Barkingside. Mrs Oxenham's brother, Laurence Rosenberg, teaches Jewish education at JCoSS.
The Hendon Reform congregant will take up the post for the September academic year, succeeding Irene Kay, who will retire in the summer, having headed the 240-pupil school since its establishment in 1999.
" I am delighted to be making the move from one successful school to another," Mrs Oxenham said. "Clore Shalom is flourishing and has a strong impact on its learners, providing a positive and encouraging starting point.
"The leadership challenge here is to maintain its growth and complete its journey from 'good' to 'outstanding'".
Governors' chair Irene Blaston said "Mrs Oxenham has a reputation as an excellent teacher and we are thrilled that she has agreed to accept this position to take Clore Shalom forward".
