A 17-year-old City of London pupil organised and hosted a multi-faith conference for sixth-formers from London schools including JFS.
Times religion correspondent Ruth Gledhill and Adam Copson of the British Humanist Association were among a panel recruited by Hannah Cowen to debate the place of religion in the modern world.
Limmud’s Clive Lawton delivered the keynote address and students took part in small discussion groups. Hannah, a Highgate Synagogue member, said: “I feel very strongly people should be discussing whether religion has a place in the modern world. I think that discussions like these reveal prejudices which need to be talked about.”
She has started a Facebook page for participants to continue the dialogue.
