The Council of Christians and Jews has produced a liturgy for churches to mark Holocaust Memorial Day, which falls on a Sunday this year.
CCJ project manager the Reverend Patrick Morrow compiled the resource which includes, he said, a “set reading from the Hebrew scriptures, a psalm, an epistle and a Gospel reading, with at least one commentary on each”.
He added that in keeping with the event’s theme of “Communities Together; Build a Bridge,” the readings “will help us all to look at how estrangement — them-and-us thinking — can come about”.
The resource would also illustrate “how, through simple acts of humanity and kindness, we can and must build bridges between our communities.”
The resource can be downloaded from the CCJ website.
