Rory Bremner made a huge impression on guests at Norwood's "distressed investment" dinner in London's Mayfair, which raised a record £322,000.
A pitch perfect George W Bush was a clear favourite and satirical swipes at the financial sector also went down well with the 290 diners.
After hearing the appeal speech from Lawrence Black, who has been supported by the charity for 50 years, Bremner said he was pleased that because of the dinner proceeds, "people like Lawrence will have their lives transformed".
He also took audience questions on topics ranging from Scottish independence to prank calls to Cabinet ministers.
