Adam Morris has been announced as Belmont & Edgware Cricket Club's new captain.

Belmont and Edgware Cricket Club concluded their 50th anniversary by announcing Adam Morris as their new captain.

Taking over from Elliot Mayer, who stepped aside after five years at the helm, Morris was elected at their AGM, where David Kay was also appointed captain of the second team, replacing Jack Mendel.

Mendel was appointed vice-captain, with Mark Spanjar named as the new treasurer.

The evening also saw awards handed out to standout performers from the past season. Ilan Selby helped himself to a number of gongs, with Spanjar named batsman of the year. U18 star Elisha Lev was named fielder of the year, the most improved accolade went to Gavi Lowinger, in his first season for the club, while young player of the year and clubman of the year were both won by Emanuel Latchman.

Speaking of his election, Morris said: “I’m really proud to have been appointed captain of this fantastic club. It was great as always to see so many of our members, including some who have been part of the club for six months and some who have been here for over 20 years, having an enjoyable look back on the season and fully engaging with what our club should look like going forward. I’m already excited to be back in the nets and building up towards the 2025 season!”
