Ulster Television presenter Paul Clark was master of ceremonies for the Northern Ireland HMD event which was at Belfast City Hall.
More than 400 people attended the event in the presence of the Lord Mayor of Belfast Naomi Long and the Junior Minister Robin Newton.
Cantor Alwyn Shulman from the Dublin Jewish Community sang the prayer for the repose of the souls of the departed during which the memorial candle was jointly lit by 86 year old Teddy Dixon who was in the US 7th. Army and helped to liberate Dachau Concentration Camp and Lara Bloch from the Belfast Jewish Community who represented the community’s youth.
