A delegation of rabbis and British Jews has visited the UK's largest Traveller and Gypsy-owned estate to express solidarity.
The delegation went to Dale Farm in Essex on Wednesday, where they met Richard Sheridan, president of the Gypsy Council. Basildon Council plans to evict the 100 families from the land.
Rabbi Janet Burden said: "I believe that the history of the Jewish people calls on us to stand up for the vulnerable. I want to see for myself what is happening and to do what I can to help."
