Robbers subjected a Jewish family's babysitters to a terrifying ordeal in the heart of Salford's Broughton Park last Friday night.
Police were called to Cavendish Road shortly before 11pm after two men forced their way into a house, a 21-year-old babysitter having answered the door expecting a taxi-driver.
As two children slept upstairs, one of the robbers forced the woman and the other babysitter, 40, into a downstairs toilet and repeatedly screamed at them to hand over car keys. The second robber found car keys to a BMW X3, which the two drove off with the car alarm still sounding.
The mother said this week: "I'm just pleased my kids didn't wake up. I have been scared for my children ever since. The only thing I can say is that no one should ever answer the door assuming you know who it is. You always have to check." Greater Manchester Police are appealing for witnesses, including the taxi-driver, who turned up minutes after the robbery but was sent away.
