Aiming to make the shul's 25th anniversary as memorable an occasion as possible for all of their more than 200 members, St Albans Masorti Synagogue made sure that every one of them got involved in the celebrations.
On one Friday, 25 member families opened their home to invite another group of members, numbering from two to 20, to a Friday night dinner.
"The weekend was the ultimate example of community," said shul co-chair Simon Samuel. "Every Sams member either hosted or was invited to dinner in a member's home, demonstrating above all the vibrancy of our community spirit. "
The "25 Friday Nights for 25 Years" event was just one of a number planned to celebrate the shul's silver anniversary. Also on the schedule are a jazz brunch, a quiz and a garden party.
