The Oscar-winning Coen brothers are the latest to join the Netflix revolution, with their first television series.

Joel and Ethan Coen, who won Academy Awards for Best Original Screenplay for Fargo, and Best Picture, Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay for No Country for Old Men, will produce, write and direct The Ballad of Buster Scruggs, a Western anthology which will feature six tales about the American frontier. Tim Blake Nelson will star as Buster, and the series will launch next year.

“The Coens are visionary directors, masterful storytellers, and colorful linguists. We are thrilled for Netflix to become home to the full range of their talents,” said Cindy Holland, vice president of original content. The brothers added: “We are streaming motherf—ers!.”
