The Royal Albert Hall is to host an evening of celebration to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Balfour Declaration, organised by Christian Zionists.
Entitled Partners in This Great Enterprise, the show will feature singers, actors, musicians and a large choir at the venue, in Kensington, south-west London, on November 7.
The evening has been organised by the Balfour 100 (Christian) Working Group. Organisers said that “Christian leaders will help us ‘remember, reconnect, recognise and rededicate’ to show our love and support for Israel and the Jewish people”.
A spokesman said: “We are very excited by this event, which will be spiritually significant as well as being a wonderful celebration in a world-class venue.”
The Balfour Declaration – signed by Lord Balfour, the then Foreign Secretary Lord Balfour in 1917 – expressed British support for a Jewish homeland in Palestine.
