Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis has been confirmed as a speaker at next week’s American-Israel Public Affairs Committee (Aipac) annual conference in Washington DC, America.
The JC understands that the Chief Rabbi plans to deliver an uplifting and inspiring message to the audience when he addresses the plenary on Tuesday.
But his speech is unlikely to be as bold as his intervention ahead of the December 2019 general election in which he openly warned that Jeremy Corbyn was “unfit for high office”.
Former New York City mayor Mike Bloomberg, who is currently seeking the Democratic presidential nomination, is also among the speakers at the three-day event.
Aipac attracts 18,000 delegates from across the globe including leading communal and political figures from the UK.
In 2013 the former Chief Rabbi, Lord Jonathan Sacks, addressed the conference.
