A Merseyside couple accused of involvement with fraudulently obtained charity cash appeared at Liverpool Crown Court on Tuesday.

Harris Polak faces two fraud charges involving cash donated to Cancer Relief UK and Clatterbridge Cancer Research.

He is also charged with two charges of money-laundering involving the donated money, as is his wife, Reva Polak.

It is alleged that the offences occurred over a four-year period between September 2007 and November 19 last year. The fraud charges involve Mr Polak allegedly making false representations to the charities about the money collected.
