Acclaimed BBC journalist John Ware is among the six winners of the Wizo 2015 Commitment Awards, it was announced this week.
Mr Ware won the media category for his radio documentary on Islamist fanaticism. He was selected from a shortlist of three chosen by the JC.
The other winners, recognised by Wizo for their charitable work and contribution to the Jewish community, were young volunteer Orli Shoshanah West; Deborah Gundle, who runs the website Netbuddy, for carers of disabled people; and environmentalist Avi Djanogly. Also honoured were the team behind the Fusion Gateway education project and Martin Vegoda, who promotes dialogue between Muslims and Jews.
A panel of judges picked the winners. Chairman Lord Young said: "In a way every application was a winner, such was the diversity and dedication shown by so many people in our community."
The award ceremony will take place next month.
