Indian sculptor Anish Kapoor and architects Lord Norman Foster and Zaha Hadid are just a few of the high-profile names taking part in a unique art project spearheaded by Caroline Esdaile and her family, which aims to raise money for young adults with autism.

Art Exchange, started by mother-of-three Mrs Esdaile, together with her late mother Trude Reiss and her daughter Kate, aims to promote dialogue between celebrity artists and groups of autistic people who attend the Resources for Autism Adult Studio in north London.

Mrs Esdaile and Kate, 20, have written to a selection of celebrities from the art world asking for an image. For every image received the artists at the studio reciprocate with one of their own.

The pieces are being auctioned online on eBay today, with proceeds going towards the art therapy programme at Resources for Autism. Mrs Esdaile tells People: "We were overwhelmed with the generosity of the contributing artists; they inspired our artists at the art studio and gave them the respect and dignity that they are entitled to."
