A grandfather from Bushey who has helped more than 100 people find volunteering work across London through the Jewish Volunteering Network has been named a Point of Light award winner by David Cameron.
Colin Stodel, 65, is the latest recipient of the award, recognising those who make a change in their community and inspire others. Through weekly “open door” sessions, he has recruited volunteers who have devoted thousands of hours to helping charities. He is particularly interested in supporting those with disabilities.
Mr Cameron said: “Colin has not just given hundreds of hours of his own time to supporting causes he believes in. By helping other people to find volunteering opportunities they are passionate about, he has delivered thousands of hours of volunteering to a huge range of causes..”
