Oscar winner Gwyneth Paltrow has revealed she is raising her children as Jewish.
Ms Paltrow, whose late father was Jewish film producer Bruce Paltrow, appeared at the Young CST's summer cocktail party in the Jalouse nightclub in central London last week, where she spoke to an audience of 100.
She was interviewed by presenter Vanessa Feltz about rediscovering her Jewish background on the Who Do You Think You Are? TV programme in America in April. Her father came from a long line of east European rabbis.
Her Polish great-great-grandfather was Rabbi Simon Paltrowich.
This has inspired her to raise her children, seven-year-old Apple and five-year-old Moses, in a Jewish environment, she said.
Ms Paltrow said: "I was glad to be able to express my support for Community Security Trust in this way. The charity does important work and this was a good opportunity for me to meet the younger generation of their supporters."
