Barnardo’s children’s charity has confirmed that it will return money donated by convicted paedophile Miles Esterson , after the JC revealed that he had raised the funds using an alias.
The UK charity, which has received a £3.1million government-backed grant to combat child sex abuse, said it would not accept the £450 raised by Esterson after he took part in the Prudential London-Surrey 100 bike ride this month using the name Miles Stone.

A Barnardo’s spokeswoman said: “We are returning all of the money raised by this individual as we suspect the nature of the allegations raised are in conflict with our basis and values.”
The JC understands that Esterson’s Just Giving fundraising page was taken down at the request of Barnardo’s.
The money will be given directly back to individual donors.
Former Hasmonean pupil Esterson, 33, was jailed in the United States in 2010 for five years after he was found guilty of performing sex acts on three boys under the age of 12. He was deported to the UK last year after serving his sentence.
