The Labour Party office in Chingford and Woodford Green was defaced with anti-Israel graffiti this weekend.
On Saturday, photos emerged of the office in east London daubed with graffiti, reading “Isreal [sic] lobby out” and “UK MPs for UK Not Israel”.
Labour activists scrubbed off the graffiti on Saturday morning.
Labour’s new candidate for Chingford and Woodford Green, Shama Tatler, said: “This shameful vandalism is not just an attack on our campaign - it's an attack on our whole community.
"Together, we will defeat the forces of hatred and antisemitism and take our positive message of change to residents here."
Faiza Shaheen had been expected to stand in Chingford and Woodford Green but was not endorsed by the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) after she allegedly “liked” a series of social media posts that downplayed antisemitism accusations in Labour.
The Jewish Labour Movement had reportedly received numerous complaints about Shaheen’s campaign from local members.
Shaheen said on social media that Gaza was the “number one issue” on the voters’ doorsteps.
On Wednesday, she received an email to say she would be blocked from standing as a Labour candidate in the general election – a message she told BBC Newsnight she had received after the media were briefed.
Shaheen was predicted to win on July 4 against long-time Conservative candidate, Iain Duncan Smith, who has represented Chingford and Woodford Green, formerly Chingford, since 1992.
On Thursday, Labour endorsed Brent councillor and cabinet member Shama Tatler to stand for the seat.
