The Jewish Committee for the Olympic Games is complaining to Locog about the difficulty of obtaining kosher food at London 2012.

At the ExCeL centre, the largest competition venue at the Games, there was no sign of kosher food in the wide range of eateries on Sunday.

Jewish chaplains confirmed that some kosher sandwiches were on sale at the “Bridge Deli” range of shops in the Olympic Park in Stratford, but visitors on Monday reported that counter staff were unable to locate the products.

One woman, a 31-year-old IT consultant from Hendon, who did not want to be named, is a volunteer at the Games and had ordered her meals four weeks ago. She confirmed her order by phone, a week before she was due to start in Stratford.
