OSCAR WAGNER (HMH) - took down a lovely cross from Sammy Kingston on his thigh and volleyed into the top corner from the edge of the box

ALEX MOSS (HMH) - controlled the ball on the edge of the box, flicked it over the SPEC defender with his right foot and smashed the ball home on the volley with his left foot

ELI WEGRZYN (HMH) - finished off a flowing move of quick passing with a sweet right-footed shot into the top corner

THOMAS PRAIS (HMH) - smashed the ball in off the bar from a tight angle

RYAN COLE (Fairlop FC) - another stunner from outside the box

BRAD GAYER (Fairlop FC) - deft chip from 25 yards against Mill Hill Dons

DAN SELWYN (Oakwood) - 60th minute pile-driver against RJC

JC SAVE OF THE WEEK CONTENDERS

ADAM ZAIDMAN (Hertswood Vale) - Hendon needing to score to stay in the match. Zaidman took his moment of glory with both hands, diving at full stretch to keep out the penalty. Cue the celebrations!

JC QUOTE OF THE WEEK CONTENDERS

JACOB EMANUEL (Hertswood Vale) - "It's difficult to put into words if I'm honest. We led three times before deservedly winning the shoot-out against the most successful team in Jewish football"

JORDAN SAPLER (Hendon Utd Sports) - "Hertswood Vale are a good team who would compete with many in the Prem"

JAMES HARPIN (North West London Bears) - "We decided to sign three 'old boys' to try and help us learn as a team and it worked today, with Mark Rose and Paul Gerrard playing a lot of the game and then my dad coming on for the last five minutes"

JAKE SANDERS (Fairlop FC) - "There are some teams we lose to, but Mill Hill Dons are not one of them. Not now, not ever and Sunday was no different"

LUKE LEWIS (North London Galaxy) - "Our night out was simply far to heavy on the Friday night to ever have been a contender in the game Sunday - a massive learning curve on our behalf. We had an amazing bonding experience as a team and have gone 11 games unbeaten, which unfortunately came to an end. To be honest, we couldn't have lost to a better side - fair play to Manchester Maccabi, a class act and a very talented team. We wish them the best for the season ahead and have full confidence they can go all the way and lift that trophy!"

DAN KRISTALL (Oakwood) - "Good luck to Jon and Dan at RJC. We've had some great title races and battles with Redbridge over the last few seasons. They are a new-look side this season, as they rebuild and I've no doubt, they will be back in the Prem soon enough. For two Leeds fans, they're both good lads!"

YOUR WEEKEND REVIEW STARTS HERE:

PETER MORRISON TROPHY ROUND ONE

HERTSWOOD VALE 3 HENDON UNITED SPORTS 3 (Hertswood won on penalties)

First division Hertswood Vale caused one of the biggest-ever upsets in Maccabi football after knocking former winners Hendon United Sports.

Vale's goals came via Harry Graham (2) and leading marksman James Millet in open play, before they held their nerve to send Hendon crashing out on spot-kicks.

Proud Vale joint-manager Jacob Emanuel told JC Sport: "This result means the world to Danny, Viv, Jack and I and it has made all the hard work over the last three and a bit years worth it. Every single player deserves their plaudits for today's performance (which is why I'll be nominating all of them for the team of the week, and we're absolutely buzzing to be in the quarters!"

Hendon boss Jordan Sapler told JC Sport: "Not a good day at the office today for us, both teams didn't have a recognised goalkeeper and when that happens you can't afford to have concentration lapses in defence. Unfortunately we lapsed 3 times and they scored three times. Full credit to Vale who played really well and suffocated a lot of our attacks with a strong and disciplined defensive performance."

HMH 12 SPEC FC

A fab five-goal salvo from OSCAR WAGNER steered holders HMH into round two as they crushed first division SPEC FC 12-0.

ALEX MOSS also scored a hat-trick, while further goals from Eli Wegrzyn (2), Thomas Prais and Dom Feldman completed the rout.

HMH boss Avi Goldberg told JC Sport: "What might have been a tricky fixture particularly as we were down to 11 men for the second half, turned into a rout."

SPEC player-manager Ricky Lawrence told JC Sport: “I think it’s fair to say the better team won.”

FAIRLOP FC 6 MILL HILL DONS 2

Premier Division class told as Fairlop FC overpowered first division Mill Hill Dons, registering their biggest win of the season.

Bradley Gayer (2), Ryan Cole (2), Daniel Bean and Adam Goldman were the scorers as Fairlop cruised to victory.

WATCH: VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS

Fairlop's Jake Sanders told JC Sport: "After an extremely difficult start to our league campaign, it was nice to return to winning ways and score some goals in some very difficult conditions. There are some teams we lose to, but Mill Hill Dons are not one of them. Not now, not ever and Sunday was no different. From the moment Beany put us ahead inside the opening 60 seconds, it was a case of how many and lucky for the Dons, it was only six. We look forward to the quarter-final draw and then a massive again at Maccabi London Blue this Sunday."

PHOTOGALLERY

Mill Hill's goals came through Harry Moss and top-scorer Zach Cohen. Dons manager Jamie Nagioff said: "I don't think the scoreline was a fair reflection of the game. Fairlop were the better side but we competed really well against a team in the division above us."

==============

OAKWOOD 5 REDBRIDGE JEWISH CARE 1

A brace from top-scorer Josh Cuby eased Oakwood to a five-star win over first division Redbridge Jewish Care.

Dan Selwyn scored the goal of the game, with further strikes from Alex Lee and Ben Peppi securing the win.

Oakwood Director of Football Dan Kristall told JC Sport: "It was a good win as we look to progress in a competition we have struggled with in recent years. We controlled the tempo and possession of this game from the first minute and in truth should have won by a much bigger margin. We took our goals well and once we got the lead, there was no going back, scoring at regular intervals. After the big surprise in the Hertswood/Hendon game, we now eagerly await the draw with most the big names from north and south still in the hat."

Sam Cormack fired a consolation for RJC - his first goal in Redbridge colours. Boss Daniel Jacobs told JC Sport: "We're looking forward to getting back to league action next Sunday, after exiting both cups against strong Premier Division opposition."

==============

BORUSSIA BARNET 2 MJSL REP TEAM 1

Goals from Nathan Rosenthal and Mitchell Gerber saw second division Borussia Barnet edged past the Manchester Jewish Soccer League Rep XI with a hard-earned 2-1 win.

The Reps didn’t let their heads drop and got back into the game when a foul on Arie Steinberger led to a free-kick that was smashed into the bottom corner by Rafi Kaye.

MJSL boss Ian Selwyn told JC Sport: "It wasn't the best game and chances were few and far between. We're came away a little disappointed as we were a couple of players light, but the best team shaded it. This game was what the Peter Morrison Trophy is all about - north versus south - and we appreciate the efforts with which Borussia went to accomodate us on the day."

==============

MLFC BLUE BROOK FARM ROVERS 1

Former winners MLFC Blue were made to work hard by first division Brook Farm Rovers, with goals from Adam Hassanali, Sam Hamerton and Mikey Field sending them through.

Philippe Auret registered for Rovers.

==============

MANCHESTER MACCABI 1st 9 NORTH LONDON GALAXY 1

Strongly fancied Manchester Maccabi 1st overpowered Division One table-toppers North London Galaxy to the tune of nine goals to one at the Oasis Academy 3G in Oldham.

 NJG opened the scoring with a well-taken goal inside quarter of an hour but the celebrations were short-lived as Maccabi bounced back with a Sam Hatton equaliser almost immediately although hotly disputed by the Southern based team.

Unfortunately this seemed to set the tone for the majority of the match with ref Elliot Shiers having to keep order by issuing cautions and sin bins repeatedly. Two goals from Michael Sacks, including a penalty, plus an own goal that followed Hatton’s driving run really ended the contest making it 4-1 at half-time. The second period was closed off inside the hour with several more goals and a red card for the opposition producing an unassailable 6-1 scoreline. More followed and a final score of 9-1 and another red card during the match for two yellows for NLG meant they finished with nine players. Nobody will want to meet this Maccabi 1st team.

Galaxy boss Luke Lewis told JC Sport: "We had an amazing bonding experience as a team and have gone 11 games unbeaten, which unfortunately came to an end. To be honest, we couldn't have lost to a better side - fair play to Manchester Maccabi, a class act and a very talented team. We wish them the best for the season ahead and have full confidence they can go all the way and lift that trophy!"

Faithfold sealed their third win of the season to return into the top three as they thrashed Camden Park 9-3, with goals from Akiva Solomon (3), David Leiwy (2), Joe Cohen, Jamie Davila, Eli Davila and Avi Markiewicz

A extraordinary contest saw Faithfold storm into a 2-0 lead before Camden turned the game on it's head to lead 3-2 at half-time, through the in-form Daniel Orgel (2) and Rob Hershkorn. But Faithfold ran away with the game in the second half, scoring for fun.

Faithfold player-manager Markiewicz told JC Sport; "We looked like scoring every attack in the second half, and pretty much did."

Camden's Ray Abrahams told JC Sport: "Overall I'm so proud of the first half showing but injuries and with players taking no further part in the game we had no chance on the day after that just had to see the remaining time out."

JEWDINESE 3 MLFC RED 1

Reiss Mogilner scored a deadly double against his former club, with Sam Stern adding another, to earn Jewdinese their fourth league win of the season.

'Nese boss Darren Lawrence told JC Sport: "It was a really good performance from us. We dominated the ball, looked more assured in our new formation and created some very good chances. My only criticism would be that we should've scored more goals. But when we were under pressure we defended very well and dug in deep to grind out the win."

BAYERN MINCHA 0 NORTH LONDON RAIDERS 13

LIRON MANNIE hit four as North London Raiders moved to within a point of leaders North London Galaxy after hitting double figures against lowly Bayern Mincha. Gideon Gale (2), Yarden Sharon (2), Josh Nagli, Matt Warner, Jordan Nathan and Dan Behar joined the party for Raiders.

Joint-manager Gideon Gale told JC Sport: "It was a comprehensive display from the boys. With the score only 3-0 at half time, we challenged the boys to be ruthless in the second - goal difference could prove costly come the end of the season. Credit to Mincha though for showing up and giving it everything for 90 minutes."

A deadly double from George Hagen Levy ensured North West London Bears finally got the monkey off their backs at the eighth time of asking as they registered their first-ever MGBSFL win, beating basement battlers West Hamdillah 2-0.

Relieved Bears' joint-manager James Harpin told JC Sport: "A long time coming but we finally got our first win, and hopefully we can use it to kick on now. We decided to sign three 'old boys' to try and help us learn as a team and it worked today, with Mark Rose and Paul Gerrard playing a lot of the game and then my dad coming on for the last five minutes."

CdC co-manager Adam Conway told JC Sport: "Today it clicked going forward with our forwards being at their clinical best. We’ve got a huge game against FC Team next week, so defensively we will need to be on the top of our game. I’d also like to thank the man from Hampstead Ducks who reffed the first half superbly."

TEMPLE FORTUNE 0 SCRABBLE FC 1

Nigel Goldthorpe was Scrabble's match-winner as they dented Temple Fortune's promotion hopes with a hard-fought win at Silver Jubilee Park.

Goldthorpe's decisive actions saw him set off on a 60-metre solo run, ending being the only man in the box to received a left-foot cross from Bourne to win the game.

Proud Scrabble player-boss Jon Yantin told JC Sport: "The old boys bullied and tormented the ‘tune with a well-organised and systematic game-plan for the full 90 minutes."
