JC GOAL OF THE WEEK CONTENDERS

ALEX LEE (Oakwood) - 35-yard free-kick - the centre-back with an absolute screamer!

CHARLIE EZRA (MLFC Red) - a great strike against Camden Park - a superb move down the left which ended with Ezra slotting a superb shot into the corner of the net

JACK MATTEY (Borussia Barnet) - a sensational team move with nearly every played involved finishing with a square ball across the goal for Mattey to pass it into an empty net

JOE SALOMON (MLFC Blue) - an absolute cracker from 30 yards to complete his hattrick, a booming effort that fizzed passed the keeper and was totally unstoppable

SAUL GREEN (Club de Chigwell) - Max Persell played a lovely flicked the ball over the Scrabble defender into Green’s path, he continued his great form by taking one touch and on the turn unleashing a shot from 30 yards which flew over the keeper, dipping just in time to find the back of the net

HARRISON BAUM (North London Galaxy) - scored a beautifully caressed left-footed shot into the bottom corner following an excellent run and cross from Josh Shack

JC SAVE OF THE WEEK CONTENDERS

PAUL DOCTORS (Scrabble) - heroic goal-line clearance against Club de Chigwell

JOSH FREY (Jewdinese) -  great save with his right leg against SPEC

GIDEON RABSTEIN (Faithfold DocMM White) - an excellent penalty save low down to his left

JONI HIRSCHOWITZ (Paris Saint-Jewmain) - stunning double-save from a penalty at 0-0 to keep PSJ in the game with 10 minutes to go against first division title hopefuls North London Galaxy

JC QUOTE OF THE WEEK CONTENDERS

DANIEL JACOBS (Redbridge Jewish Care) - "A third brace of the season for our Israeli international Niv Gur, added together with a hat-trick a few weeks back - he's starting to find his feet in English football. He never scores just the one!"

GIDEON GALE (North London Raiders) - "Can we do it on a cold Sunday morning in Essex? Absolutely! We know that if we want to play in the Prem next year these are the types of standards we need to hit week in, week out"

DAN KRISTALL (Oakwood) - "A good week for the club having finally concluded transfer dealings for both Gold brothers from Lions for undisclosed fees. To tempt two players of their quality, away from a club that they have spent more than 15 years is a massive coup. They have excellent Prem division experience and credentials and we welcome them to Oakwood"

FAIRLOP FC 0 NORTH LONDON RAIDERS 5

ARON GALE was the hat-trick hero as first division North London Raiders caused the upset of the round by sending Fairlop crashing out.

Charlie Cohen and Ben Rosen also found a net in a statement win for L'Orange.

NLR joint-manager Gideon Gale told JC Sport: "Can we do it on a cold Sunday morning in Essex? Absolutely! This was an exceptional team performance. We absolutely dominated the chances and possession. I was so impressed with how we kept the ball from front to back. Our keeper didn't have not one save to make and we created over a dozen good goal scoring chances. This team keeps getting stronger and better week by week. We know that if we want to play in the Prem next year these are the types of standards we need to hit week in, week out. We're delighted to be in the quarters but the focus is the league and we look forward to a week off before our game against Bayern Mincha. Special mention to David Nezri on his first game back in two years - an outstanding addition to the squad."

Fairlop's Jake Sanders told JC Sport: "Not much to say today, it's a broken record. Raiders' 5-0 win was fully deserved."

DC Prediction: Fairlop 1 Raiders 1 (Fairlop to win on penalties)

MLFC BLUE 5 REDBRIDGE JEWISH CARE 2

Premier Division class told as MLFC Blue produced a five-star performance to see off first division Redbridge Jewish Care at Rowley Lane, with JOE SALOMON smashing home a hat-trick and Mikey Perkins scoring the other two.

MLFC came out the blocks flying and did what managers Max Kyte and Laurence Judah asked of them. Salomon opened the scoring with a well placed 25-yarder over the keeper. Perkins followed shortly after with two of his own, giving the hosts a comfortable lead. Redbridge almost pulled one back through a delightful rabona cross which was met by the Redbridge striker attempting a scissor-kick which flew just past the post.

The half-time whistle came, allowing MLFC to reaffirm their focus. Salomon added to his tally with a neat finish, essentially putting the game to bed. He shortly followed up with an absolute cracker from 30 yards to complete his hat-trick, a booming effort that fizzed passed the keeper and was totally unstoppable.

Niv Gur scored twice for the visitors, and RJC boss Daniel Jacobs told JC Sport: "I'm extremely proud of the boys today against a very good MLFC side from the division above. We showed real heart and desire to battle until the end, and in all honesty, I think five goals flattered them. "A third brace of the season for our Israeli international Niv Gur, added together with a hat-trick a few weeks back - he's starting to find his feet in English football. He never scores just the one!"

DC Prediction: MLFC 3 RJC 1

HMH 2 FAITHFOLD DOCMM WHITE 0

A deadly double from in-form Oscar Wagner helped HMH progress at the expense of top-flight rivals Faithfold DocMM White.

Delighted HMH boss Avi Goldberg told JC Sport: “After our last match against them, we knew this would be tough as Faithfold set out their stall once again with five at the back and defending deep to give protection to their keeper Rabstein. Nevertheless we dominated possession, but without doubt Faithfold made us work hard for the win."

Faithfold player-manager Avi Markiewicz told JC Sport: "In the end I am very proud of our boys. We played an excellent game and stayed with HMH the whole way."

MLFC RED 1 CAMDEN PARK 2

A last-minute header from Daniel Orgel steered Camden Park to a 2-1 win over MLFC Red at Rowley Lane, just as predicted!

MLFC sent out a predominately young team but included a couple of older heads to try and help the youngsters  out and the game plan was working superbly in the first half as we controlled the game and went ahead after 10 mins through a superb move down the left which ended with Charlie Ezra slotting a superb shot into the corner of the net.

Camden boss Stirling Kay told JC Sport: "Credit to Lions who put a lot into this game - they are a young side with some gifted players, I was particularly impressed by their movement. Unluckily for them we managed to convert our chances when the game got stretched and I am proud of the boys for showing the Camden character in coming back to win this match."

MLFC's Joel Nathan told JC Sport: "It was a real sickener today as having lead for 70 minute from a great Charlie Ezra strike, we gave away two goals in the last ten minutes. Unfortunately as the game went on CP got more into the game and drew level with seven minutes left and then scored the winner in injury-time. The boys will learn from this, especially the younger ones, and will come back stronger next week."

Harrison Baum scored his first goal for Galaxy in the 2-0 triumph over second division PSJ, with Jordan Grundman securing the win.

Both goals arrived in the second half in a game where PSJ goalkeeper Joni Hirschowitz received rave reviews from both managers following a string of stunning saves.

Galaxy boss Luke Lewis told JC Sport: "10 games. 10 games unbeaten. We march on - anything 💙"

PSJ boss Elio Elia told JC Sport: I’m extremely proud of the boys' performance. A lot of positives for us to take into the league now and keep pushing forward."

TEMPLE FORTUNE 1 OAKWOOD 4

A man-of-the-match performance from Jacob Feinstein saw former winners Oakwood cruise into the next round after beating Division Two table-toppers 4-1, as predicted!

Alex Lee, Josh Cuby (2) and David Woolman were the marksmen for Oakwood.

Oakwood Director of Football Dan Kristall told JC Sport: "It was a convincing win and, in truth, it probably should have been more. This is a cup competition that we have a tremendous record in, having been in the final the last two years and having won it in 2018. Advancing was always going to be tough against the Division Two high-flyers but we got the job done. We wish Temple fortune all the best for the remainder of the season."

Jonny Kaye scored a consolation goal for Fortune, and boss Simon Linden told JC Sport: "The boys put in a good shift. It wasn’t an easy game as we were without some key players and picked up injuries during the game, so we can hold our heads high."

DC Prediction: TFFC 1 Oakwood 4

BORUSSIA BARNET 6 NORTH WEST LONDON BEARS 0

Jack Mattey and Oron Sheldon bagged brace as Borussia Barnet boosted their promotion hopes with an easy win over the Bears. Mitch Gerber and Danny Shina added the gloss for the Barnet boys.

Borussia joint-manager Brad Papier told JC Sport: "The Bears have a slight attitude problem; they gave us too much respect and we went 2-0 up, they were well in the game but as soon as the third went in heads dropped and they almost gave up. It’s a shame to see as they have some good players but they’re too quick to jump down each other’s throats and the low confidence is a breeding ground for mistakes which we capitalised on clinically."

CdC player-chairman.Joshua Dobias told JC Sport: "It was a professional performance from Chigwell - although it wasn’t pretty at times we held on to the lead and got the all-important three points."

Scrabble player-manager Jon Yantin told JC Sport: "With an average age of 44, the old boys made the youngsters work very hard for their victory on a muddy grass pitch."
