Former Kadima leader Tzipi Livini announced today that she will be forming a new political party called Hatnua, meaning “The Movement”.
Ms Livni said at a press conference today: “"I have come to fight for peace, and I will not give my hand to those who try to turn the word peace into a dirty one."
“If we don’t make a change now, we won’t be able to make it in the future.”
Ms Livni hopes to push strictly-Orthodox conscription and create initiatives to help the unemployed.
“The Movement is the only party that can do this,” she said.
Ms Livni’s announcement comes only seven months after she decided to quit politics. It is expected that former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert will announce his political plans later this week.
