Alex Ullmann was left dumbfounded after watching his Leeds Maccabi 3rd side snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
Winless Leeds led Crumpsall 2-0 and 3-1 thanks to two goals from Dan Davidson and Ollie Abrahamson’s solo effort before eventually going down 5-3.
But a second half collapse allowed Crumpsall to roar back and Ullmann was at a loss to explain his team’s capitulation.
“I just don’t have any words to explain it,” he said.
“We knew it was a big game and we went at it 100 per cent in the first half and we were doing really well.
“But for some reason after the break we didn’t do enough and perhaps we were just a bit frightened of winning.
“But credit to Crumpsall because they’ve got an astounding bunch of guys in that team.
“They all play for each other and encourage one another and it really is great to see.”
Leeds have now lost all seven games in the MJSL this season and Ullmann is keen to stop the rot as soon as possible.
“We’ve got a week off with no game on Sunday so we can train and get a few things sorted,” he added.
“We’re scoring a lot more goals now and we’ve improved a lot since the start of the season but we need to tighten up at the back.
“Our next game is against Oakhill Lions and we’re really looking forward to that game.
“It will be a tough one but we’re confident we can get a result.”
