Rob Richman insists he can lead Norstar London Raiders to silverware next season after taking over from Phil Peters.
Following the merger between North London Raiders and Norstar, Peters led the A-team to the runners-up finishes in the MGBSFL Premier Division, which they led for several months, and Cyril Anekstein Cup competitions. He is stepping down to concentrate on his commitments with the Team Maccabi GB football squad at next summer's European Games in Berlin.
Richman said: "I am delighted to be back in the hot-seat and I am looking forward to what will be a really exciting challenge next season.
"Phil did an absolutely outstanding job last season and my aim will be to continue his good work from last year."
Richman enjoyed several successful seasons leading NLR B and recently managed the Team Maccabi GB squad, along with Jonathan Green, at the European Maccabi Football Trophy competition, where they lost to France on penalties in the final.
He said: "I am also very pleased that Jon is joining the fold and help me in a managerial capacity. We worked well together at the EMFT and I know he'll be a great asset and a big help to everyone "The aim is to keep the squad roughly the same. We will obviously freshen things up a little, but the core of the side did exceptionally well last year so we are only looking to bring in a few players of real top quality. I'm looking forward to the of pre-season and September 7 cannot come soon enough."
NLR chairman Jonathan Adelman said: "What Phil and the A's achieved last season was superb and far beyond the target I set for them at the beginning of the season. "A Premier League points haul of 45 and a first major cup final appearance was an unbelievable achievement.
"We are fortunate that in Rob we have someone who can pick up the reins from within the Club and of course who laid the foundations for the current side. I am sure under his guidance the team will go from strength to strength."
Peters believes NLR will need to make further improvements over the summer to challenge again.
"It will be a tough job for everyone at NLR to repeat the success of this season, especially as teams will know all about the threat that is posed," he said. "Rob will have to bring in some new faces up front.
"The competition will be more fierce next season, but if the signings we discussed before my departure come off, and the club manage to hold on to their best players, then they can certainly challenge again. I'd be delighted to see them pick up some trophies."
