Teenage prodigy Marc Kuber has enjoyed a successful period on the golf course.
Kuber, 17, finished runner-up in the Ashford Manor Junior Open, missing out by one shot. He said: “I played pretty averagely but nonetheless, that was a nice start to the season.”
Playing in the Johnson Better Ball tournament at Hendon Golf Club, together with his partner, Kuber beat Walker Cup player Luke Goddard 5 and 4, running out victors on the 14th to claim his second win in three years.
Kuber has also been involved in several county matches for Middlesex and won the Northwood Under 21s Open by two shots with a total of 150 over 36 holes.
He said: “I would put my improved performance down to a good attitude to playing, an intense fitness and conditioning program as well as the help and advice of my coach, Davin Knudsen.
“I hope that my form will continue to allow me to attain a college scholarship to the USA where I feel my golf will develop with a view of potentially turning professional without neglecting my academia.”
