South Manchester’s unbeaten start to the season came to a halt as they suffered an 18-run defeat against Forresters.

Despite dismissing their opponents for 124 from 34 overs, Steve Glicher’s side fell agonisingly short of their target.

After winning their first two games, South appeared full of confidence and an impressive bowling performance gave them a huge chance of recording another victory.

Huddy Lieberman took 2-14 from his 10 overs, while Josh Oehley and Shaya Rabinovitz also chipped in to help limit Forresters to a low target.

South made a solid start to their run chase and looked on course for victory at 70-2 before eventually crumbling to 106 all-out.

Akiva Lieberman, so often the hero for South, was sent trudging pack to the pavilion for just six as South’s batting line-up was blown away.

“This was a hugely disappointing result bearing in mind it was a small target to reach,” said Glicher.

“But we will all learn from this and it shows that we can battle with the best and the improvement on last year is huge.”
