Team GB’s lacrosse girls won a history-making silver in the final of an event held for the first time at the games.
Having defeated hosts Israel 10-4 in their semi-final, the GB team faced a formidable USA side and eventually crashed to a 19-2 defeat.
But their coach Carrie Goldstein- herself an American from New York – was far from disappointed at not taking the gold.
“The team all played their hearts out and were delighted with their silver medal.
