Fortune were far from being at their best but did enough to squeeze in the semi-finals.

Top-scorer Sherman headed Fortune ahead from a corner and after the Ducks had levelled, Hyams, making his second appearance, netted from a free-kick late on to put his team through.

It was Hyams's fourth goal for Fortune following his hat-trick against Paris St Jewmain in Uxbridge.

Fortune manager Simon Linden told JC Sport: "It's great to be in the semi-finals. It was a bit of a scrappy game and we struggled to get going.

"Credit to Hampstead Ducks as they set-up well defensively and there was few chances created.

"We dug in and got the result and will look forward to the draw. In particular Robert Samuelson was outstanding at right-back and was solid throughout – very impressive."

Fortune captain Adam Speck commented: "A winning habit is nice to have and that is exactly what we have at the moment.

"Today wasn't the prettiest and credit to the opposition who sat back and made it difficult but we have learned how to win and yet again showed that solidarity and belief together can win games of football."
