Jason Stein is predicting big things from Oakwood B this season.
He describes James Frener and Alex Koslover as “big additions” to a squad bustling with quality.
Six players have left the club which will not be competing in the Peter Morrison Trophy as Stein believes it “is no longer viable to enter two teams from until it is played under the same eligibility rules as the Cyril Anekstein Cup.
Stein said: "Top three is the target I’ve set us and if we can stick around the top three for the majority of the season then we'll have a great chance of winning the title.
"I think there are five or six sides - ourselves included - that will really fancy themselves. Apart from three teams at the bottom it is a very close division and it'll be a real challenge most weeks."
COMPETITIONS ENTERED:
MGBSFL First Division and Cyril Anekstein Trophy. Until the Peter Morrison Trophy is played under the same player eligibility rules as the Anekstein I've taken the decision to withdraw our second team from it. It's unfortunate but the rules mean having two teams in it is no longer viable.

PLAYERS IN & OUT:
James Frener and Alex Koslover, two central midfielders, are big additions for us. We've seen a half dozen players leave and I wish them well. Our big turnover was last season when we had a dozen in and a dozen out. This summer that has not been the case and rather than bringing in a load of players I've challenged the existing strong core of our squad to be available, be committed and put in a strong season.
PLAYERS TO WATCH:
James Frener is one to keep an eye on in central midfield. And after nearly two years out we're expecting Haydon Davidson to make his return this winter. As far as I'm concerned at the time of his injury in December 2014 Haydon was the best player in our side by a comfortable distance. A fit and firing Haydon up front for Oakwood will be game changer and we're keeping our fingers crossed for him. He's a great lad and we're all really excited at the thought of him having back. We've a lot of talented players and when Dan Seligman, Dan Selwyn, Dan Ash and Haydon get going it could be a better foursome than the Maccabeats.
CAPTAIN:
Dan King - Kingy was excellent in his debut season at centre back and I've no doubt that will continue. He's a born leader and well respected by everyone.
