Republic of Mancunia 2nd boss Paul Levy believes the strength and size of his players proved too much for Manchester Maccabi 3rd.
Mark Clayton and Gary Freeman were on target for Republic, who moved up to second in the MJSL following their 2-0 win over Steve Bentwood’s team.
And Levy says he was delighted with the physical aspect of his side’s performance after they inflicted a third defeat of the season on champions Maccabi.
“We were bigger than them and perhaps that helped,” said Levy.
“They had a lot of chances and missed a couple of absolute beauties.
“We caught them on the break as they were piling forward for an equaliser and we managed to hold on.
“It wasn’t a great game but I’m just happy to win.
“I’m happy to not be frustrated and it’s just a great feeling.”
