Shahar Peer has won the Guangzhou Open in China, her first WTA singles title in three years.
Seeded five, Peer, 22, beat first-time finalist Alberta Brianti of Italy 6-3, 6-4 in the final.
The victory marked a fourth career singles title for the Israeli on the tour.
“I’m very happy to win this title,” said Peer. “It’s really important to me.
“At the beginning of the match she played really, really well. She was very aggressive and dominating the points. I was a bit nervous - I wasn't hitting the ball very well. But I found my rhythm. It wasn’t perfect, but it was good enough to win today.”
