North London Raiders have confirmed that they are folding their current A-team with immediate effect.

Relegated after finishing second from bottom in the JC MSFL Premier Division this season, the team disbanded following last night's match against treble winners Hendon which they lost 4-0.

The club recently learnt that, from next season, the FA will enforce a rule across all leagues prohibiting two teams from the same club from playing in the same division.

Raiders chairman Jonathan Adelman said: “After much soul searching, I am very sad to say that we have taken this decision.

"We looked at various options, but ultimately there are players in our squad who, when added to the current B-team, would give the club a real chance to challenge for silverware.

"Knowing that the first division team could not get promoted would I think take away any chance we'd have of recruiting the new players required to make that team viable."

Rob Richman, the current B-team boss, will manage Raiders' Premier Division team next season.
