Maccabi Manchester 2nds edged closer to the championship thanks to Jack Myers’ deadly-double.

The leaders moved within touching distance of the title as Myers (2) and Daniel Harris ensured Reich Insurance Rangers were the latest side to come a cropper.

Three more wins should be enough, but boss Irving Modling insists his table-toppers – who have a month off before their next game - will keep their feet on the ground during their break.

He said: “We are almost there and nobody could say we don’t deserve it if we do win the league.

“But there is still quite a lot to play for. We have to play Haroldeans, who are our nearest challengers, and they have a game in hand over us.

“It is not a forgone conclusion so we will just stay focused on our job at hand.

“We know if we perform to our capabilities we will have no problem.”
