League leaders Manchester Maccabi 3rd cruised past a vastly weakened Westdene side in style, with both Max Rose and Josh Hayes netting hat-tricks.
Manager Martin Simons was pleased with the win, and was immediately looking forward to games coming up in the coming weeks against the Republic of Mancunia, whom they moved six points clear of with this victory.
“We have two important games against Republic of Mancunia, who look like our closest rivals, so we are concentrating on that at the moment, as well as the cup this weekend and then we’ll see how those games go.”
It was one-way traffic with Manchester Maccabi piling wave after wave of pressure on the Westdene goal. Maccabi dominated possession and could have made it double figures had it not been for the Westdene goalkeeper Dan Caplan who pulled off some excellent saves to keep the scoreline down.
With four goals in each half it was a crushing defeat for the visitors who were without a number of players. Sam Modlin also scored twice for Maccabi as they extended their lead at the top.
