Leeds Maccabi 2nd boss Simon Fisher is remaining defiant despite his side suffering a 3-0 defeat against Osmondthorpe Rangers.

Louie Fisher and Mark Korn both wasted golden opportunities as Osmondthorpe took advantage to record a comfortable victory.

Despite an encouraging start, Leeds were unable to build on their supremacy and were made to pay for their wastefulness in front of goal.

But Fisher picked out the debut of 16-year-old Marcus Shaffner as a bright spot and says his team will learn from the defeat.

“I was much happier with the team this week,” he said.

“We competed well and I felt we were really never under real pressure.

“However, basic mistakes cost us again and we’ll be working hard on eradicating them in training.”

Meanwhile, Leeds Maccabi 1st suffered a 1-0 defeat against New Unicorn FC in hard-fought encounter.

The result leaves Ian Selwyn’s side just a point off the top of the Leeds Sunday Alliance Premier Division after two games.
