Middleweight fighter Milch, 37, was beaten by Little in February, but he described his 59-55 points victory in his 16th professional bout as his “best performance” of his career.

Weighing in at 10st 10lbs – his lightest as a pro boxer – Milch went on the attack from the first bell, landing a series of strong body shots and upper cuts on his opponent.

He was calling the shots in Edmonton and ran out a worthy winner, with five out of six rounds going his way.

“I was determined right from the start,” said a jubilant Milch, from Bushey. “It was a dominant performance in which I came out fast and strong. I was looking to make a statement and I believe I achieved my target.

“I was stronger and faster than Little, and determined not to leave it in the judges’ hands. It was a great night at a great venue.”

Milch described Little as “a tough opponent” and was relieved he “did himself justice” in the ring, with a performance to be proud of.
