---------------------------------

GOAL OF THE WEEK: THE CONTENDERS
1. SAM GOLD (Brixton) - a sensational 35-lob from near the touchline
2. MITCH HAHN (Woodford) - GOAL 1 - 30-yard thunderbolt against Redbridge
3. JOSH BLOOM (NLR C) - GOAL 2 - picked the bouncing ball up 25 yards out and his excellent volley beat the HMH keeper low to the keeper's left
4. JAMIE LEVRANT (KS Reunited) - a stunning flick to open the scoring against KC
5. MITCHEL ROSS (KS Reunited) - a 25-yard screamer which was only bettered by his double roly poly celebration
6. MARC COHEN (SPEC FC) - Straight off the training ground, James Lesner passed the ball expertly to Marc Cohen from the penalty spot (via the goal post) for Cohen to tap home
7. JAMES GERSHFIELD (Harmen) - the ball was laid through to Gersh, it looked like his first touch had taken it too wide to get a shot away but he managed to rifle it into the far corner from a near impossible angle
8. ROB HERSHKORN (Camden Park) - a sublime free-kick from just outside the box on the right-hand side. He did especially well to get it up and over the wall from a short distance, and it flew past Max Shields into the far top corner
9. BENNI SLUCKIS (Hendon B) - Chaim Kormon went on one of his jinking runs down the left, before feeding Jono Nesbitt to lift over a great cross and Sluckis rose like a salmon to power in a header

DANNY CARO'S GOAL OF THE WEEK: MICHAEL CASSON

---------------------------------
---------------------------------

SAVE OF THE WEEK: THE CONTENDERS
1. MAX SHIELDS (Harmen) - crucial penalty save against Camden
2. MICHAEL CASSON (ML Lions Blue) - made an amazing triple save against FC Team A
3. MIKE MYERS (FC Team A) - SAVE 1 - a Lions player was clean through, bearing down on goal, but Myers had other ideas making himself big and winning the ball with his legs
4. b>MIKE MYERS (FC Team A) - SAVE 2 - another one-on-one, the Lions player tried to take it around Mike, but the super strength and reflexes meant Mike came out on top
5. BEN CHERKAS (NL Raiders B) - pulled off an exceptional double save, finger-tipping away a shot destined for the bottom corner before somehow scrambling up to block the point blank rebound

DANNY CARO'S QUOTE OF THE WEEK: JASON STEIN

---------------------------------
---------------------------------

QUOTE OF THE WEEK: THE CONTENDERS
1. VIV EMANUEL (London Rovers) - "I also want to congratulate Boca on there first win of the season. I know that Gabe has put alot of effort into making the team what it is and it has paid off"
2. DAVID GARBACZ (Hendon A) - QUOTE 1 - "I hope Redbridge go up this year. They have given us two big frights in both cups which we have done well to come out of on top and frankly are superior to many current Premier teams"
3. DAVID GARBACZ (Hendon A) - QUOTE 2 - "I would look forward to locking horns again with my mate, Jon - I'm pleased to say we both kissed and made up after last week's shenanigans and there was no controversy this time - just a very hard fought cup tie between two totally commited teams"
4. JON JACOBS (Redbridge B) - "David Garbacz knew his team had been pushed as hard as possible and was magnanimous in victory, praising my young team and agreeing that they had been lucky to win"
5. RIC BLANK (Oakwood A) - "I genuinely believe no other team would have even given Raiders - themselves without some key players- a game given our absentees. On that level I'm proud of the boys - I couldn't ask more from them in terms of commitment - but the football has to improve"
6. TONY CHARLES (Woodford) - "Discipline is the foundation upon which all success is built. Lack of discipline inevitably leads to failure"
7. JAMES LEWIS (KS Reunited) - "After such a quick start and racing into a three-goal lead, we are disappointed to have let it slip, but happy to have performed to a level in a game where not many had given us a chance"
8. RICKY LAWRENCE (SPEC FC) - "It was a really good, competitive game on a pitch that Roy Hodgson would have no complaints over"
9. JOEL ALTERMAN (Harmen) - "There is no better way to properly introduce yourself to your new team mates than to score the winner with two minutes left of extra-time and Pearson looked delighted with his contribution"
10. ADAM GLEKIN (Hendon B) - "I made a big point of telling the lads we'd scored the opening goal once the whole season - so they scored after 30 seconds to shut me up!"
11. ROB RICHMAN (NL Raiders A) - "We are delighted with the three points particularly given the fact that at one stage earlier in the week we had just nine players available"
12. JASON STEIN (Oakwood B) - QUOTE 1 - "It's taken a full 24 hours for me to summon the courage to speak to the press. I considered a blackout; but the fans deserve an explanation for our poor performance and without a home game for a few weeks I couldn't wait for my programme notes"
13. JASON STEIN (Oakwood B) - QUOTE 2 - "The Chanukah games come around thicker than a lashing of cream cheese at a brit and we'll use that to our advantage"
14. JASON STEIN (Oakwood B) - QUOTE 3 - "I've been reading Colin Powell's leadership book recently. He's a massive advocate of not seeing a setback as the end of the world. "Everyone is a Monday morning quarterback," so says Mr Powell. He's right. We got things wrong, but we move on. The only way to react is to start winning games again. Our talent demands it"
15. JAKE ERLICH (Jewdinese) - "Goal machine Zac Brin scored two to prove why many think that he's the jewish Gregorz Rasiak"

Relieved Hendon boss David Garbacz told JC Sport: "RJC promised us a proper welcome and we felt it from minute one as they were biting and flying in and showing enormous desire and commitment - we expected it, but maybe didn't realise how hard they would actually come at us and we very nearly paid the penalty."

FC Team C manager David Gordon told JC Sport: "Unfortunately we weren’t at full strength, and the best team won on the day. I was happy that the boys continued to fight until the end and spirits were still high in the changing room, despite our first defeat of the season.

"It was a good game and played in the right manner again; I will still be pleased to get our third and final meeting out of the way in a couple of weeks though!”

PEARSON MAKES THE PERFECT START
HARMEN 3 CAMDEN PARK 2 AET
New signing Mike Pearson made an instant impact, with a crucial extra-time winning helping Premier Division table-toppers Harmen edge past first division leaders Camden in a five-goal thriller.

Rob Hershkorn gave Camden a shock lead with a stunning free-kick before JC Player of the Month James Gershfield restored parity with a well-taken equaliser. Harmen keeper Max Shields then saved a penalty, but the hosts forged ahead for a second time, only for an 87th effort from Joey Lazare to force extra-time.

Co-boss Joe Marsh told JC Sport: "This was our worst performance of the year - we were a shambles at times, but we dug deep and produced the goods when needed."

Camden's Max Saunders told JC Sport: "We're absolutely gutted with the result as we feel we deserved a lot more especially in the first 90 minutes where we feel we were clearly the better team."

Keeper Ben Rosenthal was the star man for Woodford, although he could do nothing about Adam Hakimi's consolation strike for an RJC team that finished the tie with eight men due to injuries.

Woodford boss Tony Charles told JC Sport: "Discipline is the foundation upon which all success is built. Lack of discipline inevitably leads to failure.

Woodford were resiliant and focused throughout today, skipper Ben Rosenthal lead by example with every player working for each other, our discipline and unity was evident for all to see. Credit to Redbridge who battled to the final whistle."
