North London Raiders opened a four point lead at the top of the Maccabi Masters League Division One with a 6-2 demolition of Glenthorne United A.
Goals from Wayne Davidson, Ashley Davidson and Richard Sacks had put Raiders 3-0 ahead before Sid Shaw gave Glenthorne a lifeline just before the break.
Glenthorne then further reduced the deficit with a penalty after the interval, but this only stirred Raiders into action, and two more goals from Sacks gave him his hat-trick, and a sixth goal, from Jon Yantin, completed the rout.
Faithfold thumped Hendon Harriers 4-1 with strikes from Paul Gold, Jason Levy, Russell Rich and an own goal. Guest player Gary Shaw had earlier equalised for the Harriers.
A six-goal salvo from Peter Sollosi put Glenthorne United B a point clear in Division Two after they outclassed Clayhall Park Casuals 8-0. Gary Adams and Adam Lennard completed the scoring.
Martin Schultz and Dean Poster were on the mark as Brady Maccabi B continued their revival with a 2-1 win over London Maccabi Lions.
Norstar came away 5-4 winners in a ding-dong encounter with South Mancs B. Ian Goldsmith and Steve Jakar gave Norstar a 2-0 lead before Paul Herszaft pulled one back. Perry Somers restored Norstar’s two-goal advantage within a minute, with a rasping drive.
Herszaft scored twice more after half-time to bring the score to 3-3, but not to be outdone, Ian Goldsmith scored twice more for Norstar to complete his hat-trick.
However, Herszaft was not finished, and notched his – and South Mancs’ – fourth with five minutes remaining, but Norstar held on to take the points.
