In what was a tightly fought match up, Maccabi's first chance came from a corner, with David Herman's effort well saved by the Meadowside keeper.
It was talisman Sam Hatton who opened the scoring with arguably Maccabi's best goal of the season. Aaron Goldman turned brilliantly in the middle of the park before spraying the ball out left to Toby Levy. Levy looked up, whipped in first time cross to Hatton, who finessed the ball into the corner on the volley.
The game remained tight for the best part of an hour with both teams creating chances. Maccabi keeper Dave Cohen came up trumps at one end, while hot tap specialist, Louie Basso, should have doubled Maccabi's lead.
Maccabi went down to 10 men when Scotsman Greg Jacobs was sent to the sin-bin.
With the pitch getting heavier, Maccabi needed a second and it finally came, ten minutes from time through Aaron Goldman. Levy found Goldman on the left who crossed the ball into the side of the net.
Maccabi made it three through Basso, topping off the perfect comeback for the boy who does it all.
Maccabi player-manager Michael Sacks, couldn't hide his delight. "We knew this was going to be tough against a good team.
"Perhaps the most pleasing thing about the result is that we kept out a very good attacking team - Meads have averaged over four goals a game in the league this season.
"I keep telling the boys that to win this league, we need to play with confidence and consistently strive to play to a top level - and so far, seven games in, we're doing just that."
In other Maccabi news, it was a morning to forget for the Yellows as they went down 5-3 to Reich in the Manchester Jewish Soccer League. Two goals from Oli Grant and one from Rafi Newman couldn't keep the yellows at the top of the table, who now sit one point behind Reich, with a game in hand.
