Avi Luzon is the first-ever Israeli to be elected on to UEFA’s Executive Committee.

He received 28 out of 53 votes, including one from the FA, and will hold his seat a four-year term.

One of his roles will be to help decide where all the European finals and competitions are played.

A six-strong Israel FA delegation attended the UEFA Congress in Copenhagen to learn the ropes for staging next year’s event in Tel Aviv.
