London Maccabi Vale Under 13 got their season off to a flying start with a deserved 12-run victory against Enfield.

Opener Jacob Hirschowitz, making his debut for LMVCC, held the innings together – scoring 31 runs in 19 overs. The innings was ably led by Thomas Goulde with a mature 28 not out and there were valuable contributions from Gidon Kattan (18) and Nathan Wise as LMVCC finished their innings on 119-3, a excellent effort and testament to all of the hard work in the winter nets.

Matthew Gold opened the bowling with fast, accurate and aggressive bowling finishing with statistics of 4-0-16-0. This was followed by another impressive spell from Alexander Goodwin (3-0-11-2), Sam Abrahams (3-0-12-0) and Nathan Wise (4-0-22-1), ably supported by Joel Greenbaum, Thomas Goulde and Joey Sanford, who claimed his first competitive wicket.

Jayden Lazarus made a very impressive debut behind the stumps and a superb team effort, including some first-class fielding by Ryan Peysner and Toby Weineger, restricted Enfield to 107-4 in their 20 overs.
