AC Mill Hill's match against L'Equipe was abandoned after player-manager Joe Levy suffered a broken leg.
Referee Neal Cohen stopped the match after 75 minutes when the injury occured, with the home side were leading 2-1.
A Mill Hill spokesman told JC Sport: "It has been confirmed that Joe has broken his tibia and fibula. He is staying in hospital tonight and will have operation tomorrow.
"He is in good spirits (and at least happy he can watch the Super Bowl tonight without having to get up for work!)"
L'Equipe player-manager David Prager told JC Sport: "It was a terrible way to end what was a fiercely competitive match from both teams. On behalf of everyone at L'Equipe we would like to offer Joe our best wishes and a speedy recovery."
