Ian Selwyn expects Sunday's clash with New Unicorn FC to give him a real indication of his side's progress over the summer.
The Leeds Maccabi 1st boss was thrilled with his team's 5-1 opening day win away at AFC Waggon but is looking for an improvement this weekend.
Selwyn said: "There were some good things to take out from last week's win but it's only the first game and so there's no point getting carried away."
Unicorn finished second in last season's Leeds Sunday Alliance but are yet to play a competitive match this term and Selwyn is hoping his men can take advantage.
He said: "We played some good football but New Unicorn will be a real challenge because they'll be right up there at the end of the season."
Dave Woolman's stunning hat-trick and goals from Richard Black and Curtis Bitton-Price gave Maccabi a comfortable opening day victory.
Meanwhile, an injury-ravaged Leeds Maccabi 2nd team went down 6-0 against Leeds Amateurs.
Manager Simon Fisher, 48, was forced into action alongside fellow veteran Steve Feldman, 49, as Maccabi failed to live with their impressive opponents.
