Striker Kashket’s arrival from Leyton Orient last season coincided with a purple patch which saw Wycombe narrowly miss out on the play-offs.
Kashket scored 13 goals in two months before he tailed off and scored just three more times in 2017.
But ahead of his fourth season with the Buckinghamshire club, Jacobson believes Wycombe can now go one better — with Kashket’s help.
“Scott made such a big impact for us. And once again he will be crucial,” said Jacobson.
“He was so good for us when he came in and he sparked our upturn in results. He could not stop scoring. But he picked up some injuries towards the end of the season which hampered his game.
“Now he is fit and firing again which can only be good for us.
“Promotion has to be the aim. We feel we have a good enough squad to achieve that.”
Jacobson, 30, heads into the final year of his contract knowing he will need to remain on his toes if he wants to keep his first-team place. I’ve not had many injuries in the last few years and so long that may continue,” he said.
“I’ve been playing week in, week out but the manager has added competition at left-back. It’s good for me and the club.
“A young player will challenge me and that will ensure I keep working hard.
“I know I will need stay focused and be on my game, especially in training, if I’m to play in most of the matches.”
