A Jewish player was crowned the Super Bowl’s Most Valuable Player as the New England Patriots won the season-ending title game for the sixth time.
Julian Edelman, whose father is Jewish, caught a game-high ten passes for 141 yards as his team defeated the Los Angeles Rams 13-3 in Atlanta on Sunday.
The 32-year-old also played with the Patriots when they won the Super Bowl in 2015 and 2017. The team is owned by Jewish businessman and 2019 Genesis Prize winner Robert Kraft.

The wide receiver has previously said he celebrates Chanukah, and voiced support for the victims of the Tree of Life synagogue shooting in Pittsburgh in October.
Also on the winning side was Nate Ebner, the Patriots’ Jewish safety and special teamer.
The NFL’s 53rd Super Bowl was the lowest-scoring title game ever, with the scores tied at 3-3 until the fourth quarter.
Edelman said: “It wasn’t pretty. I’ll take any ugly win over a pretty loss.”
Bill Belichick, the New England coach, said of Edelman: “Julian always gives us those kinds of plays – tough plays, tough catches, catch-and-run plays, breaking tackles for a few extra yards, third down.
“He did a tremendous job."
In defeating the Rams, the Patriots celebrated their sixth league title in 18 seasons – drawing level with the Pittsburgh Steelers for the highest number of titles among NFL teams.
They were losers in last year’s Super Bowl, going down 41-33 to the Philadelphia Eagles.
