JFS Year 8 in dreamland after winning London Cup

JFS’ confidence grew in the second half as they began to use their possession and set-pieces more effectively.  An opportunity from a spilled shot by the St Bons goalkeeper saw Oli Tibber slot in the rebound to give JFS the lead.

With 20 minutes to go, JFS continued to defend well and hit the opposition on the break.  A low and powerful cross from Jordan Okwor, followed by a dummy that fooled the keeper by Tibber, left Macey Bannerman-Lloyd, who also plays for Watford Ladies, to finish with aplomb to seal the victory.

JFS Year Eight manager Mr Bartram said: “This was an outstanding performance from start to finish. All players put everything on the line and you could see just how much each one of them wanted to win today.

“ I can’t fault their attitude, commitment and energy throughout the season and I’m extremely proud of them all.

“St Bonaventure are a well-known footballing school, so to beat such high- level opposition in the final really tops it off.”
