A sensational five-goal salvo from LEE CASH helped current holders Neasden cruise into the next round as they ripped apart Division Three favourites Glenthorne A on the 3G at the Hive.

The tie was as good as over after five minutes with NWN racing into a 3-0 lead.

There was also a hat-trick for defender JAKE GOTTLIEB with other strikes coming from Andy Glynne, Kyle Bentwood, Shai Revivo and Jon Ellis.

Glenthorne's scorers were Liam Stein and Gary Tiller.

NWN manager Jamie Cole told JC Sport: "It was good to get back to winning ways. Hopefully we can continue.

"The Peter Morrison is a great trophy and we would love to win it for the fourth consecutive time, but there's a long way to go."

Glenthorne player-manager Daniel Lipman told JC Sport: "The boys fought until the end but the truth is Neasden are leagues above us, but it was good for the boys to see the standard we should all be aspiring though.

"Back to our bread and butter next week with a home game against a struggling Faithfold C, at home, and I have no doubt that the boys will bounce back with a big performance."

Premier Division class told as three goals from assistant-player-manager DARYL PHILLIPS helped Faithfold hit the Zion for six.

There were also goals from Paul Babai (2) and Jonny Haik.

Faithfold assistant-manager Daryl Phillips told JC Sport: "It was not an easy game to today. The pitch was boggy and with quite a strong wind, it wasn't easy to play football.

"We knew we would be in for a battle, and would have to earn the right to play. HMZ put up a good fight for 60 minutes and it was a close game up until then.

"It was a good team performance by my team and we look foward to the next round of the PMT."

A last-minute strike from Alex Olcot helped the Raiders come from behind to end their Neasden B hoodoo.

Neasden forged ahead after 83 minutes with a move straight off the training ground. Danny Daggers’ free-kick caught Raiders cold and Ben Wulwik volleyed home.

Danny Berliner, the Raiders keeper, pulled off a string of superb saves to keep L’Orange in the game and that allowed supersub Ben Sheldon to haul them level with a precision finish past Ed Bloom after 86 minutes.

With time running out, and ref Colin Stupack looking at his watch, Raiders went in search of a winner and Olcot last-ditch strike sparked wild celebrations.

Raiders' Danny Caro said: "Neasden are a very good, strong and experienced team. We were due a bit of luck against them, but going into the latter stages, it looked as though they had done a job on us again.

"But credit to the boys, who, although not at their best today, dug deep and kept going to the end."

Neasden joint player-manager Ryan Glynne told JC Sport: "It was an even game between two gifted sides, played in good spirits throughout. Unfortunately if you don’t take your chances you can't finish games off. We should of gone in leading at half time.

"Even at 1–1, I felt that NWN should have scored the next goal, but credit to Raiders who continued to get balls aroundd the penalty area and put us under pressure.

"I just hope that we have finally learnt how not to surrender leads. It's happened far too often this year and if we are going to progress in either of the cups or get up the league a little, we have to hold out or finish teams off."

Strikes from Daran Bern, Lewis Walker and Dean Nyman saw Redbridge continue their title charge with a comfortable win over Lions A at Fairlop.

RJC manager Sam McCarthy told JC Sport: "Pitch conditions somewhat dictated the standard of the game. This, on occasions, compromised our attractive football and hindered us acheiving a higher scoreline.

"I felt we were always in control and with the exception of one or two close calls our end, Dan Lee did not have much to do. Lions defended well and, as always, gave a good account of themselves, with their keeper pulling off some good saves.

"It was our pace upfront that I felt caused them continual problems, particularly coming from both wings. We created a high number of chances that we should have put away, but our peseverance paid off in the end. An excellent performance from RJC and an important three points."

Lions boss Eilon Kennet told JC Sport: "It's very hard to replace six A-team regulars in one game, especially against one of the top teams.

"Nevertheless, the boys gave everything they could against a full strength Redbridge A team, who look good for the title.

"Hopefully, well be back to something resembling our regular side against against Hendon A on Sunday, in what will be another tough game."

Brady continued where they left off in 2010, thumping home six goals without reply at Little Bushey Lane.

Keeper Oli Colmans grabbed the headlines with a 90-yard effort completing the scoring. Mark Smith (2), Josh Hershman, Nick Stern and Steve Field were the others scorers in a game that saw the return of Montana keeper Lee Duskwick. (Ed. bet Dan Cohen's happy he missed it!)

Brady manager Josh Rosenfeld told JC Sport: "This was a fantastic result and it's very pleasing to start the new year as we left off last year. On a tricky pitch in poor conditions we manage to still play the football everyone loves to see and created chance after chance.

"Anyone watching the game will tell you that we should have at least got in to double figures. All I can say is we only go game by game and look forward to next week. We have a huge superb squad and everyone involved is the reason why we are winning week after week.

"I want a special mention once again to Steven Field who dominated the game in midfield and is progressing week after week and Oli Colmans has done the unthinkable by scoring from a drop kick. Not only because he can't usually kick, but its pleasing as this has happened in the opposite driection before!"

Three goals from man-of-the-match DAN BECKWITH inspired Harmen B to a resounding 5-0 win over struggling Redbridge B at Ashmole School.

Daniel Amram (2) and supersub Paul Stein completed the rout.

Kicking in to a strong wind and having not played for five weeks, Harmen came under pressure for 20 minutes as RJC flew out of the blocks. Harmen resisted well, grabbing two quick counter-attack goals before half time.

The home side scored again within two minutes of the restart, Amram breaking the offside trap and finishing well.

Three more goals come including a fine finish from Amram after good work from Dave Marcus.

Jubilant Harmen player-manager Mark Engel told JC Sport: "Redbridge started brightly and we were definitely rusty, but having weathered the early pressure we played some good football and deserved the win. Credit to everyone of the boys who played there part."

An injury time effort from Norstar's Jeremy Elster meant that the teams finished 1-1 for the second time this season.

Jamie Kent had put the visitors ahead with a looping finish over the keeper following an excellent four-man move but Elster's strike five minutes into second half stoppage kept the leaders going strong.

Brixton manager John Nitka told JC Sport: "A game that we should have won however their goalkeeper pulled off three fine saves and we missed a stack of opportunities."

The home side survived a late onslaught with David Gance, Michael Goldberg and an own goal seeing them through.

Woodford’s goals came through Harrison Midda and player-manager Alex Aviram.

It could have been better for Fortune but Scott Shindler blazed a penalty over the bar.

Woodford played a large chunk of the game with 10 men, for the second week running, after Adam Poole was dismissed in a fiery contest.

Andrew Souber, the Fortune manager, told JC Sport: "A great win and good to get the New Year off to a winning start. Realistically we should have been five or six up.

"We seemed to lack energy towards the end and made it much harder than we should have done. On a positive note, it's the kind of game we would have lost last season so it's great to see this Fortune team getting stuck in."

"Considering they had 10 men they gave us a huge scare in the second period.”

The match also marked the return of Fortune striker Ben Isaacs, whom the club feared had been ruled out for the remainder of the season through injury.

RJC manager Richard Bronzite told JC Sport: "Yesterday was a tough game. I was very impressed with Catford. We looked rusty and tired. They were much fitter then us, but the difference was that we took our chances when they came. They have definitely improved since we played them last and we wish them the best.

"I changed the formation to 4-4-2 with 20 odd to go as we were not playing well at all. We scored to make it 2-1 five minutes later, then with minutes left, Hadley Silver and one of the Catford players had what we call 'a Jewish disagreement'. Therefore I switched him and Lee to stop the arguments and then Lee crossed and Hadley headed in."

Ben Nathan's Heath Banta boosted promotion hopes with a gritty victory over rivals Norstar B.

Oli Joseph, Jeremy Teacher and the ever-reliable Benji Peters hit the target.

Norstar's goal came through Josh Gaon

Ben Nathan, the Heath Banta boss, told JC Sport: "It was a good battling performance to come back from 1-0 down at half time. Every one involved put in 100 per cent in tough conditions.

"It was an important result as we needed a good win like this to get our season back on track after some disappointing results."

Jonny Bunt, the Norstar manager, told JC Sport: "It was a disappointing result and a second half performance that left a lot to be desired.

"Over two games against Heath Banta this season, we have dominated for three of the four halves and I will leave Banta to say we were the best team they have faced so far. But ultimately, throughout the game we second into the challenge and - in wide areas particularly – we were constantly on our heels.

"It was very disappointing to throw away a deserved lead but fair play to Banta though, who wanted it more and played well second half to leave us feeling sore in every sense."

Two goals from Charlie Bernstein helped Real Life twice come from behind to earn a point against JLGB in Walthamstow.

JLGB's goals came through Matt West and Joe Cullum.

West put the hosts in front with a far post header from an excellent Joe Cullum cross.

Life got back into the game with a well taken strike from Bernstein into the bottom corner.

JLGB upped the pressure and had a lot of the play going forward going close through Mike Marks, and Rob Silverman and Mike Marks both hitting the bar.

Then Joe Cullum was put through and lobbed over the keeper to make it 2-1.

Life got their equaliser when a lofted ball beat Jon Temerlies and Bernstein was there with another good finish.

JLGB manager Rob Silverman told JC Sport: "I was proud of my team today. They fought for everything and we looked really dangerous going forward.

"I feel a little more optimistic about avoiding relegation than before the game, especially with Paul Black, Ian Levy, Oli Shoffren and Justin Freedman to return to the squad soon."

Brothers Joel Winton and Jonny Winton boosted their chances of staying up.

Celebrating a first win in four months, Cohen told JC Sport: “It was an amazing win. I’m very proud of the boys.”

David Garson, the Faithfold manager, told JC Sport: "Take nothing away from Zig Zag, they played very well and defended resolutely. If they play like that every game I’m sure they will stay up.

"We were a little bit flat after the extended break and it’s not often we don’t have our shooting boots on. But I guess it was just one of those days. We either failed to hit the target and when we did it went straight to the keeper."

JOEL KUTNER led the way with four fabulous goals, with Dean Shaw and Alex Rubin putting the icing on the cake.

Hendon's goals came through Conway (2) and Moishe Noe.

Linden told JC Sport: "I'm just delighted to turn up and get the three points on a very difficult pitch which was seriously cut up and hard to play on."

The Raiders made it two on the spin as they over-ran Neasden at Hatfield University.

Jonny Sandrove (2), Toby Katz, David Esterkin, Matt Greene, Darren Russell, Nicky Woolf and, for the second consecutive game, Joe Newton were the marksmen.

Delighted Raiders boss Oli Shorts told JC Sport: "Yet again the team produced a superb performance. A faultless game from the defence all the way to the attack. Seven goal-scorers and a clean sheet really showed we had the quality all over the pitch.

"From the off we looked sharp and composed on the ball and took the game to Neasden. A 30-yard thunderbolt free kick from Toby Katz started the scoring and at half time we were four up.

"The players have upped their game since the winter break and I'm delighted for all the lads."

NWN player-manager Louis Taylor told JC Sport: "Raiders are the best team we have played all season, and we've played first division teams.

"My boys will learn from this and be back stronger next week."

A penalty from former Telford United star Nicky Plotnik was all that separated the teams in a closer-than-expected clash at Gladstone Park as Shirley's maintained their promotion push with a hard fought victory.

The decisive moment saw Plotnik fire home from the spot after Fortune defender Simon Allen handled in the area.

Fortune assistant-manager Rob Jay, said: "It was our best performance of the season and a great game to play in.

"We were all over them in the second half. Really enjoyable match and a great shame we lost because we deserved better."
