Israel bronze bid foiled

Israel women's team narrowly missed out on a bronzemedal in the European Championships in the Czech Republic after a
nail-biting 10-9 defeat against Scotland in the third place play-off.

But the Israeli side are cursing their luck after squandering a 7-3
early lead, as Scotland clawed back the
deficit to lead 8-6 at half-time.

A 45-minute thunderstorm could not quash the Scots momentum, as they opened the second half with a
four-goal run to take a 10-8 lead.

Israel had lost 12-8 to England in the semi-finals, after Amanda Tuck scored three goals and three assists in their 10-5 win over fourth-ranked Germany in the quarter-finals
